What are gold-plated silver studs?

Gold-plated ear studs are partly gold studs. When we say partially, it is because the piece is made of silver and then alloyed with gold. It can be with 14 kt gold as well as 18 kt depending on the jewelery and design.

Gilding is a thin layer of gold. Therefore, it is also important that you pay attention to treating your gold-plated ear studs extra well and carefully. Because if you are too rough, you will wear off the gilding faster. It cannot be avoided that it happens. Once that has happened, however, you can have the gilding refreshed again at your local jeweller, so that the gold-plated ear studs will look like new again.
